A woman has been fined more than $1000 after trying to bite a hospital security guard.

Emma Jayne Mann pleaded guilty at Pine Rivers Magistrates Court to public nuisance and drug possession on Monday.

The court heard on Friday, April 17, Mann was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital after she was picked up by police in New Farm.

In the hospital Mann began to attempt to strike at staff walking passed her.

The court heard when nurses attempted to give Mann a low dose of medication she became aggressive and tried to bite a hospital security guard on the finger.

On Thursday, March 26, Mann was walking through a car park when a police patrol stopped to speak to her.

She made admissions to being a drug user and police found six grams of cannabis and 1.8 grams of methylamphetamines inside her backpack.

Mann told the court she was remorseful for what she had done and was thinking of moving out of Queensland to try and “get a clean start”.

Mann was fined $1500. No conviction was recorded.
