Tiffany & Co reveals new flagship Brisbane store in former site of iconic designer brand

One of the world’s most recognisable jewellery brands has revealed grand plans for a flagship outlet in Brisbane — at the former home of another iconic name.

Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall will enjoy a fresh touch of luxury with the opening of Tiffany and Co’s newest flagship store — the second of two top tier brands to reveal a flagship retail outlet in the iconic shopping precinct.

The proposal from the iconic American jeweller will see it launch a full retail fit-out of the former Louis Vuitton store within the Queen Street Mall centre.

Louis Vuitton launched its new, three-storey, flagship store in the CBD Friday at the former National Australia Bank building.

The new corner store location, which fronts both Queen St Mall and Edward St in the heart of the city’s shopping district, is adjacent to other high-end retailers such as Gucci, and Chanel.

Tiffany & Co’s current CBD home is at 226 Queen St.

The new design features the brand’s signature Tiffany blue branding and will showcase the brand’s collections of high end jewellery and luxury accessories.

The proposal lodged on March 22 by planners at Urbis states that the new shopfront design intends to create visual interest through high-quality wall art and glazing.

“The facade will incorporate various formats of jewellery displays, complementing the overall design of the shopfront and contributing towards the pedestrian experience along Queen and Edward streets” an Urbis spokesperson said.

“The proposal incorporates a much larger entrance on Edward St creating the illusion of one large facade, rather than two separate frontages.

“The proposal will also include an internal fit-out to suit the operational aspect of the brand, as well as an updated entrance accessible from the internal walkway in Queens Plaza”.

Tiffany and Co has a total of 10 stores in Australia, two of which are located in Queensland.

The new proposed works includes: demolition of the internal layout; new changing rooms; new display units; changes to the store presentation; upgrades of infrastructure and internal services; new furniture and flooring, and new store signage.
