Three children have been charged after they allegedly stole a vehicle in Brisbane’s north on Friday and were then found sleeping inside it.
Police allege three children stole a silver Mazda CX-5 from Brook Street in Everton Park on Friday at 11pm.
The next morning at 9am, a Ferny Grove officer allegedly found the stolen vehicle with the children sleeping inside on Callan Street in Keperra.
Ferny Grove general duties, Tactical Crime Squad and the Brisbane Dog Squad also arrived to the scene and took the three children into custody.
A 12-year-old Keperra girl, a 14-year-old Mitchelton boy and a 17-year-old Keperra boy have been charged with one count each of enter dwelling and commit, unlawful use of a motor vehicle – in company, and receiving tainted property.
The 14-year-old Mitchelton boy and the 17-year-old Keperra boy are expected to appear before the Brisbane Children’s Court today.
The 12-year-old Keperra girl is expected to appear before Brisbane Children’s Court on June 27.
