Video footage showed two people in a car waving golf clubs out of the car’s windows at officers in two police vehicles in heavy traffic on Wednesday (May 3).

A police spokeswoman said they could not confirm details of the video, released on Twitter by Channel 9.

Six people, including two children have since been charged after the escapade ended when police tracked them before spiking the car’s tyres.

Police alleged four 18-year-olds, one 15-year-old and one 16-year-old stole a 2017 BMW X5 from a Paddington address about midnight on Wednesday, May 3.

The stolen car was sighted yesterday near a train station at Sunnybank before police and PolAir became involved.

Police tracked the car for some time before they were able to deploy tyre deflation devices at Fairfield Rd in Yeronga. It eventually stopped on Wagner Rd in Clayfield, before all six people were taken into custody.
