Multiple crews arrived on scene to conduct a sweep of the store.

Shania Millican was browsing through the aisles with her sister when the alarms started to go off.

“There was no communication from staff so (we) kept shopping, then there was a different alarm (sound) and as we got closer to the items at the front of the door security announced there was an incident and we needed to exit,” Ms Millican said.

“(There were) police and security everywhere, (but we) just thought it was a drill.”

The store was closed for an hour while police conducted their search, but nothing suspicious was found.

Kmart has been contacted for comment.

Investigations are ongoing.
