The development application was approved by Brisbane City Council this week.
Plans lodged with council by Tam Dang Planning Pty Ltd, on behalf of Butterfield Holdings Pty Ltd, indicate the proposal will involve the demolition of three buildings containing five units and a caretaker’s cottage, and carparking spaces currently used by the hotel.
This will be followed by the construction of a privately-owned putt-putt course on 1205sqm, a new building containing a golf driving simulator and kiosk/service area, and 27 new carparking spaces to be shared between the two uses.

Among its reasons for approving the application, Council states it “supports the creation of a walkable neighbourhood with the potential for residents to live within walking distance of recreational opportunities and reduces vehicle-based trips to work, shops or centres.”
The 14,221 sqm site is directly adjacent to St Joseph’s Nudgee College to the east, with residential land to the north, industrial land to the south and parklands to the west.
