Bottles of Smirnoff and Malibu have cost a woman more than $200 after she pleaded guilty to taking the bottles without paying and promising to return the next day with money.

Shantel Meagan Yates pleaded guilty in writing at the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on Wednesday to unlawful taking of shop goods.

The court heard at about 7.45pm on Friday, March 6, Yates walked into the BWS at Murrumba Downs and grabbed a bottle of raspberry-flavoured Smirnoff and a bottle of Malibu rum.

She went to leave the store without paying but was approached by a staff member.

Yates told the BWS staff member she would return the next day to pay for the booze and left photo ID at the store.

She never returned to pay.

Yates was fined $150 and ordered to repay the $73 cost of the alcohol. No conviction was recorded.
