Francis, 34, pleaded guilty at Pine Rivers Magistrates Court to charges including dangerous operation of a motorcycle, evading police and drug driving.

The court heard on Tuesday, March 31, a Suzuki motorcycle Francis was driving went over the speed limit to overtake an unmarked police car.

Police watched the motorcycle pull into a McDonalds and go through the drive through, they checked who the bike was registered to and identified Francis.

After Francis collected his food police saw him bend his number plates so they could not be read.

Police activated their lights and sirens to intercept him and Francis rapidly accelerated out of the McDonalds.

Trent Robert Francis pleaded guilty to dangerous driving after fleeing police at 191kmh in a 60kmh zone.

He accelerated so fast his front wheel left went into the air.

He drove away from police at speed, and was clocked travelling at 191kmh in a 60 zone before police deemed the chase too dangerous to continue.

Police went to the house the bike was registered to and found it and Francis there.

He told police he did not want to be pulled over because he had been smoking drugs. He was drug tested and meth and cannabis was detected in his saliva.

He had previously been convicted of dangerous driving in 2018 when he drove at high-speed past a police officer who was trying to pull him over and the officer had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit.

The court heard Francis lived at home with his parents and was a “homebody” and “recluse” who rarely left the house.

A reference from his father said Francis’s drug and driving offending came in contrast to his home behaviour where he was quiet and helpful.

Francis was sentenced to six months jail, suspended for 18 months, fined $6672.50 and disqualified from driving for two years and three months.

He was also committed to the Brisbane District Court to be resentenced after the offending breached an earlier suspended prison sentence.
