The iconic Brook Hotel has undergone a major redevelopment and is set to soon open its doors to the public.
The Brook Hotel has been a popular destination for locals and visitors in the Mitchelton area for many years.
The new Brook Hotel will feature a public bar, sports bar, beer garden, bistro with an outdoor dining terrace, a function room, gaming room, and kids play area.
The hotel will have four storeys and 40 rooms that are expected to be open for bookings from mid September.
The hotel is seeking to employ up to 90 people to work in various roles across the new venue.
Endeavour Group’s Australian Leisure and Hospitality acting director, Mr Paul Walton, said the development‘s next stage would begin shortly, with a major refurbishment of the old hotel set to begin in mid April.
Mr Walton said the project’s finishing phase was exciting, and it was a pleasure to offer up to 90 employment opportunities.
“The Brook was ready for a refurbishment, and it has been thoughtfully designed to cater to the needs of the local community,” Mr Walton said.
“It will feel fresh and aesthetically quite modern – characteristics we know will resonate with our patrons.
“We hope it will become a destination to attract people from across Brisbane to this precinct.
“We’ve kept the best elements from The Brook of the past too.
“The fig tree that has stood proudly on the hotel footprint for around 60 years will take pride of place framing the entrance to the new venue.”
Australian Leisure and Hospitality stated it intends to reopen the venue in late May, following the completion of construction at the hotel, with the new accommodation set to start taking bookings from August.
