A trendy Brisbane suburb could be home to a luxurious new residential apartment complex, after pans for the flash development were lodged with the council.

A development application has been lodged for the six-storey residential building at 37B-39 Griffith Street, New Farm.

The development was lodged in March this year and includes five storeys containing a mixture of three and four bedroom apartments, on each level.

If approved, the building would also include two four-bedrooms penthouses.

Levels one to four would include private courtyards, a feature tree and landscaping.

The apartment sizes would range between 213 sqm and 616 sqm, depending on the number of bedrooms.

The gross floor area would be 1747 sqm with a 454 sqm (52 per cent) site cover. The communal ground level would be 307 sqm.

The sixth level has a communal swimming pool, deck/sitting area, and luxurious landscaping.

There would be 13 carparking spaces, one visitor carparking space, seven bicycle parking spaces, and two visitor bicycle parking spaces.

This proposal comes off the back of huge property sales across New Farm and other inner Brisbane suburbs.

The weekend of June 18-19, 99 homes made it to auction including Brisbane’s first block of flats for women, built by department store pioneer TC Beirne in the 1930s and an absolute riverfront home at New Farm, three doors down from the Merthyr Bowls Club.

The New Farm home sold for $2.55 million.
