Taneil Harris, 21, remembered after fatal Stockleigh crash while Krystal Harris fights for her life

Devastated friends and family have given emotional tributes to a young woman killed in a car crash south of Brisbane, while her sister — a young mother — fights for her life in hospital.

Devastated friends and family have given emotional tributes to a young woman who was killed in a tragic car crash south of Brisbane, while her sister — a young mother — fights for her life in hospital.

Taneil Harris, 21, was one of two people who died in the single vehicle crash on Mollenhagen Rd near Pepperina Drive, Stockleigh about midday yesterday (June 22).

She was believed to be the driver.

A 15-year-old female passenger, who was Ms Harris’ cousin, also died at the scene.

The two other passengers included Ms Harris’ brother, who is believed to be under 18 and is in a stable condition in hospital with leg injuries.

Ms Harris’ sister, Krystal Harris, is fighting for her life with serious head injuries and underwent surgery today.

Queensland Police confirmed all four people in the car were from the Stockleigh area.

It is understood Krystal is the mother to baby Paysley Mae who is nearly one year old.

Police have confirmed Krystal suffered life threatening injuries in the crash and is in hospital fighting for her life.

She was due to undergo surgery sometime today to address bleeding on her brain and other serious head injuries.

A family friend said Krystal was an amazing mother and loved by many.

They said she was a quiet person and a single mum.

They also shared more about Taneil following her death.

“She was a great person, best friend, everything,” they said.

“Four wheel driving was another one of her hobbies, camping and tubing. But dirt bike riding and four wheel driving were her main ones.

“She worked every now and then doing carnival work.

“She was amazing.”

Friends of Ms Harris have posted tributes on social media and visited the crash site, where they left flowers and other items to remember her.

“RIP to one of my closest friends. I hope you know you’ll forever be in my heart. I’m going to miss all the dumb s#*t we did together,” one post on Facebook said.

“I appreciate all you did for me, all the times you were there for me and all the times you supported me.

“You’ll forever have the purest and kindest heart out there.

“We left you some flowers, your favourite drink, some food and had our last smoke together.

“You’re the last person I expected to lose. I’m going to miss you so much my honey.

“RIP to the other young one that passed away. I didn’t know you, but I know you were taken too soon.”

Another friend posted a tribute on social media, saying she could not believe the news.

“No way! Rest In Peace beautiful girl, I’ll always cherish our memories together. The good taken too soon,” she posted.

“I’ll miss you Taneil Harris fly high Angel. Save a spot of me. I can’t imagine what your family is going through.”

Police said the cause of the crash was unknown and the matter was still under investigation.

The incident came almost decade after a 17-year-old was killed in a single vehicle crash at the same location.
