A popular northside restaurant, where families come for a buffet feast, is preparing to open again.
Jayliano’s restaurant released a post on Facebook calling for new staff for their popular Brookside venue.
“Jayliano’s Brookside is looking for enthusiastic, energetic and friendly staff to join our wonderful team,” they said.
The popular northside restaurant, located in Mitchelton, first closed in March 2020 due to the pressures of COVID-19.
They reopened their doors almost a year later in April 2021, before facing the ongoing pains of more COVID-19 lockdowns — and restrictions directly affecting cafes and restaurants, with buffet style facilities especially impacted — and closed again in August.
Operators, the Lay family, took to Facebook to reveal the reason behind their decision to close the restaurant in August.
“Jayliano’s will be refocusing our resources into our Strathpine store to make sure our family and friends still receive the best possible buffet experience,” the post read.
The sudden closure left customers wondering if the beloved restaurant would ever return.
“Awwwww, this sounds definite?” Sharon Dobson commented on the company’s Facebook post.
“Will it ever reopen Brookside in the near future?”
The Brookside location is now advertising staffing roles for casual positions, waitstaff and bar staff.
Jayliano’s lovers took to Facebook to express their delight.
“Oh my goodness, we are so excited and cannot wait to come back!” said Janne Barnes.
Jayliano’s Brookside is yet to reveal an opening date for their much loved restaurant.
