A Brisbane north suburb has been a target for opportunistic thieves despite Queenslanders being in midst of its strictest lockdown.

Between July 26 and August 2, police responded to 10 burglary offences in the Carseldine division.

There were seven reports for the suburb of Fitzgibbon alone, making it the suburb most highly targeted through this period.

Crime Prevention Unit acting senior sergeant Jodie Murray said most burglary offences were being committed between midnight and 4am on Friday.

It comes as a woman is set to face court after a vehicle was stolen in Fitzgibbon earlier this week.

On July 30, a woman was observed on security camera attempting to open the front screen door of a house in a unit complex on Desert Willow Way.

It’s alleged the woman used a spray can to block the camera from recording further.

The woman then allegedly stole an unlocked vehicle parked across the road in the same unit complex.

A 35-year-old Kelvin Grove woman has been charged with break and enter, unlawful use of motor vehicle and numerous fraud offences.

She is due to appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court on August 28.
