He walked up to a parked police car, jumped onto the bonnet and leapt over the windscreen and walked along the roof and boot before jumping off.
He left dents in the bonnet and on the roof that cost $5601.94 to repair.
When police asked Pattie why he had walked across the car he told them it was because “it was funny”.
After reading a number of letters tendered to the court, Magistrate Trevor Morgan agreed Pattie was “an otherwise good young lad, who drank too much”.
“Most sensible people learn from their mistakes, this is a particularly costly one,” he said.
Pattie was ordered to pay $5601.94 to fix police car. He was placed on a $500 good behaviour bond for 12 months. A conviction was not recorded.
