AFL Club Sandgate Hawks goes ‘left’ amid medical facility plans in club

A north Brisbane AFL club has made the clever decision to lease a portion of its clubhouse to a medical facility to help fund bold expansion plans.
Sandgate Hawks AFL club will allow a medical facility to lease within their club at 76 Lemke Road in Taigum.
A post on Facebook by the Hawks announced the new change to the club.
“We need your help Hawks community,” the post read.
“As part of our strategy moving forward, we are to lease the upstairs area only to help fund the club football expansion in the future.”
The club placed a sign on the footpath out the front of the club but due to town planning requirements the new tenant must be a medical facility, including a dentist, physio, QScan.
“It would be an ideal spot given the carparking during the week and the high exposure,” the post read.
Sandgate Hawks have put the call out to the north Brisbane community to share the link and make the vacancy known.
“We need your help getting the word out, so we are asking you to share the link below to your personal pages to increase visibility of the advertisement,” they said.
“All inquiries relating to leasing the premises should be made through the link also.”
The lease advertisement boasts its high exposure opportunity with a prime location and over 410 sqm space.
(The space is) zoned for sports and rec and ready to go,” the Raine & Horne advertisement read.
“Hundreds of people signed up at the football club (which is a) ready-made client base.
“(There is a) huge amount of onsite parking and close to Gateway and main arterials.
“(Along with) great signage options with easy access to transport, solid internal layout for a range of businesses, disabled access and amenities within.
“Rare opportunities in this location do not exist.”
The profit made from leasing the upstairs area of the club will go towards funding for a new extension to be made to the club.
“Another step out the continued growth at our great club!”
