Two Brisbane men were denied bail at the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court this week after police allege they led them on a high-speed chase through two spike traps and into oncoming traffic at the weekend.
The court heard Jesse James Brick, 27, had just finished serving time in prison when he allegedly walked out of the correctional facility and into a stolen Mistubishi Pajero, allegedly driven by co-accused Ryan Daniel Burr, 24.
A spokesman from the Queensland Police Service said the the Pajero was stolen from a Mossvale Drive residence in Wakerley on October 6.
The car caught the attention of police at around 7pm on Sunday, October 18 when it was allegedly seen speeding through Endeavour Blvd with stolen Queensland registration plates.

Several police cars and police aircraft followed the car through Mango Hill and North Lakes, where the car was allegedly observed to have bounced over traffic islands, drove into oncoming traffic and accelerated through red lights, according to police prosecutor Graham Turner.
It is alleged the car hit several structures on the side of the road as it travelled into Akuna Way and Kinsellas Rd East.
The chase drew the attention of residents who took to Facebook wondering why they could hear the chopper circulating.
Police deployed two sets of spike traps, the second of which saw the car slow down near a set of townhouses on Kinsellas Rd west.
Sarah Bartrim said she saw the driver being arrested by police.
“He was rammed into the driveway of the townhouses and blocked off after driving over the police spikes,” Ms Bartrim said.
“I’m not sure how it started, I just watched it finish in front of me.”
Brick was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing and receiving tainted property.
Lawyer for the defence Shawn Kolo told the court Brick was unaware of the situation he found himself in when he was picked up by his friend at the prison.
Magistrate Trevor Morgan deemed Brick posed too great of a risk of reoffending and his application for bail was denied.
Burr was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, obstruct police, evade, stealing and receiving tainted property.
He was also denied bail and remanded in custody.
Both men had their cases adjourned until November 4.
