A project spokesman said construction was on track for a mid-year opening of the centre which will include bulk billing GPs, dental, pathology, radiology, a pharmacy, physio, specialists and allied health.
“We’re pleased that building construction has now commenced for Our Medical Home North Lakes,” Cornerstone Health CEO Henry Bateman said.
“Having all essential health services in one purpose-built building with ample parking on-site will be a positive addition to the area.
“Feedback from the community has been extremely positive – a medical centre that can provide access to quality healthcare every day until 10pm is being well-received by patients.”
With an abundance of aged care facilities nearby and young families moving to the area, the centre should prove popular.
Stockland North Lakes Retirement Resort Village, Arcare North Lakes, Maranatha Aged Care and Retirement Village, Bolton Clark Inverpine, Seasons Kallangur, Blue Care Kallangur and Fig Tree Retirement Village are all in the vicinity.
And the addition of another pharmacy will make for four within about 200 metres of one another, with three Chemist Warehouses already close by.
A project spokesman said careful consideration had been given to street appeal.
“This prominent and contemporary medical centre reinforces the corner block aspect and has extensive glazing with multiple entries to promote an active street frontage,” the spokesman said.

There will be “pockets of landscaping” around the outside of the building, including seating.
The centre will also have 67 on-site parking spaces, which will be controlled by a boom gate – to manage parking at what is already a busy locale.
Developers said up to 25 jobs were expected to be created once the centre is up and running.
