McDonald’s to open first Dakabin, Moreton Bay restaurant

McDonald’s Australia has begun detailed planning to open its first restaurant in this Moreton Bay Regional Council suburb, which will soon get three other major fast food outlets. Here’s where it will be, opening hours and what it will include.

McDonald’s Australia is planning to open a new restaurant in the Moreton Bay area, pending approval from the Moreton Bay Regional Council.

The proposed McDonald’s will be at 1 Alma Road, Dakabin, within Dakabin Shopping Centre.

It will be opposite the major Comiskey 2500 sqm shopping centre expansion which will include a KFC, Guzman Y Gomez and other retail outlets.

Developers Comiskey released detailed plans for the Dakabin Hotel and Shopping Precinct, which will also include a gaming room and gym.

Construction is due to begin this year.

The McDonald’s development application was submitted on December 20.

A spokesperson for the fast food giant said the restaurant would inject major revenue into the local community.

“McDonald’s is currently working through the development application approval process for a proposed restaurant in Dakabin,” they said.

“If approved, the restaurant will play an active role in the community through providing jobs, training and development opportunities for local employees.

“The proposed restaurant will inject over $5 million into the local economy and create 100 jobs during construction, as well as a further 120 jobs once operational.”

At this stage no date has been confirmed for when construction will begin, should the proposal be approved.
