A man has faced Pine Rivers Magistrates Court after entering a stranger’s home to do his laundry.
Anthony William Brown, 41, was charged with trespassing after he entered a private residence on February 8 to wash his clothes.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Andrea Ford told the court Brown, who was on parole at the time of the offence, entered the property in Kallangur via the garage and began using the washing machine.
The property owners came home to find Brown in their house and his laundry on the floor.
They told Brown to leave before calling the police.
The defendant walked away, saying he would be back when his washing cycle was done.
When questioned by police regarding the incident, the defendant said he thought it was a communal washing machine.
Magistrate Annette Hennessy fined Brown $500 for the trespassing offence and for an unrelated stealing charge.
Brown appeared via video link from custody where he is held on other matters.
