A man who was expecting the birth of his daughter within weeks has been identified as the victim in a horrific e-scooter crash north of Brisbane.

The family of Adam King has been left devastated after he died after suffering critical injuries when an e-scooter he was riding on the way home from work and a car collided at the corner of Gympie and Lawnton Pocket roads on December 22.

The 28-year-old Bracken Ridge man, who recently moved to Griffin, spent almost a month in an induced coma at the Royal Brisbane Hospital but later died from his injuries on January 13.

Mr King leaves behind a partner, who is 32 weeks pregnant, and a son from a previous relationship.

Mr King’s sister, Lisa, said her brother would be sorely missed.

“Adam was very much loved by his son, mother, sister, nieces and friends,” she said.

“He always made you laugh with his crazy, outgoing personality. He will be missed by so many.”

Mr King’s friends also took to social media in the days following his death to pay tribute to their fallen mate.

“I still can’t believe it my brother felt like it was just yesterday we was working. Good memories and advice you gave, I’ll cherish ‘em forever my bigbraa. My condolences to (your) misso (and) family. Love u my brother. RIP Adzy,” one man posted on Facebook.

“I’m gonna miss him badly just popping in to see me have beer. He was turning his life around brother,” another one commented.

“RIP to the king, love ya bro, hope heaven treats you right – gone but never forgotten my boi, till we meet again,” another friend posted.

Queensland Police’s Forensic Crash Unit is continuing to appeal for anyone who has yet to speak to police about this incident to come forward.
