A teenager who was a “high priority’’ target for police has been arrested after a foot chase at a busy Moreton shopping centre which spilled out onto the streets.
Police have arrested and charged the teen in Burpengary as part of the ongoing Operation Whiskey Legion.
The 19-year-old Deception Bay man was wanted for several outstanding matters when he was sighted by police at a shopping centre in Burpengary on May 26.
Upon seeing police, the man and a woman he was with split up and fled on foot before police arrested them nearby.
The 19-year-old Deception Bay man has been charged with three counts of driving motor vehicle without a driver licence disqualified by court order, three counts of using, or permitting use of, vehicle for which a number plate attached given granted for another vehicle and one count each of wilful damage and obstruct police officer.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court today, May 28.
A 19-year-old Deception Bay woman has been issued an infringement notice for obstruct police.
