Clontarf woman to face court after allegedly driving car into Redcliffe Red Rooster

A woman was eating her lunch at a Red Rooster north of Brisbane is lucky to be alive after a motorist allegedly accelerated before slamming into the table where the victim was sitting.

A Clontarf woman will face court next month after her car ploughed into a Red Rooster and hit an outdoor table where another woman was eating her lunch.

A 54-year-old woman from Margate was injured in the incident on Friday, May 24.

Police alleged she was allegedly hit by the car while eating her lunch at the restaurant on Anzac Ave in Redcliffe about 1.30pm that day.

They alleged a red Holden mounted a garden bed before running into an outdoor table.

The diner was taken to Redcliffe Hospital where she was treated for unknown injuries.

It will be alleged the driver of the vehicle had been visiting a nearby business when her car surged forward, veering into the garden as she left the carpark.

She has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle.

She will appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on June 25.
