A developer has plans to transform a prominent foreshore CBD north of Brisbane with two high rise residential towers, dining laneways and retail opportunities.
Traders in Purple plan to redevelop 1 Redcliffe Pde, Redcliffe, north of Brisbane, into something “truly unique”.
The plan, which has not yet been lodged with Moreton Bay Regional Council, at this stage is to build two towers, with one up to 30 storeys tall, a laneway, green space, short term accommodation options, apartments, dining precincts and retail options.
While it is not the first major development Traders in Purple have been involved in on the Peninsula, it would be the biggest project.

The developer and construction company have spent $170 million on projects on the Redcliffe Peninsula so far, including The Sebel Hotel, Waters Edge at Woody Point, The Scarborough and Bathers Margate Beach.
They have a further $235 million in the pipeline to spend over the next five years.
Traders in Purple CEO Brett Robinson said this site was one of a kind in Redcliffe.
“We have a beautiful foreshore that is currently underused,” Mr Robinson said.
“This development has the potential to activate the foreshore, to start a new era of redevelopment and rejuvenation of Redcliffe’s CBD.”
“It is our intention to provide plans that create a strong open space network along the Peninsula’s foreshore parklands, to provide a more active and mobility friendly connection between the lagoon, foreshore and businesses, deliver new and contemporary green space, and facilitate appropriate commercial activity which encourages visitation, amenity and public
activation.”
Traders in Purple’s investigations and experience suggest that a “slender and vertical development” would complement the 5000 sqm site by ensuring a smaller footprint — opening up more space for green space and commercial activity.
Before Traders in Purple submits its application to the council it wants to hear what residents think of the plans.

“We are committed to developing the site in alignment with the Redcliffe Foreshore Master Plan and Activation Strategy and taking into account local ideas, context, history and tradition,” Mr Robinson said.
“We are keen to hear the community’s initial ideas but possible options on the proposed redevelopment could include mixed retail, commercial and residential offers encouraging more people to visit and enjoy the foreshore and boosting day trade by delivering new retail, dining and entertainment options to the heart of the CBD.”
The plan is to have the application lodged with council by the second half of this year, with building to start in three to four years.
