Four people injured after dog attack on Grothe St at Morayfield

A man has been seriously injured and hospitalised while three others were also wounded following a dog attack on a suburban street north of Brisbane.

Several people have been injured with one man suffering serious wounds after a dog attack on a suburban street north of Brisbane.

Queensland Ambulance Service senior operations supervisor Joanne Southwell said paramedics were called to a case at Grothe St, Morayfield for an “alleged dog attack”, where four people were injured at the scene.

“One patient suffered significant wounds to his right forearm as a result of the incident and three other patients all received minor injuries as a result,” she said.

“The 31-year-old male patient who sustained a significant open wound to his right forearm was transported code two down to the Royal Brisbane Hospital the other three patients were transported to the Caboolture Hospital.”

Along with the man who suffered serious arm injuries, a woman in her 40s suffered puncture wounds and abrasions while a man and a woman, both in their 20s, suffered abrasions.

The dog has been surrendered to City of Moreton Bay by the owners without incident.

Council is currently investigating the matter.

Having sighted the animal, it would appear the dog is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross.

“Council received a report from Queensland Ambulance Service this morning (November 2) about a dog attack incident in Morayfield and is currently investigating,” he said.

“Our thoughts go out to those who have been impacted.

“Council promotes responsible pet ownership and educates pet owners to support the safety and wellbeing of our community.

“Council has a zero-tolerance approach towards dangerous dogs.”
