Hundreds of hospitality workers will have new jobs as a $9 million renovation of a beloved waterfront hotel on Brisbane’s peninsula nears completion.

Locals will enjoy new bars, dining areas and increased seating capacity at the iconic Belvedere Hotel in Redcliffe reopens in the coming months.

The venue will initially re-open in a “skeleton” format mid-September, before a complete reopening of its new areas in November.

The renovations encompass the entire south side of The Belvedere, resulting in a revamped public bar, gaming room, and indoor dining area.

Additionally, a brand-new level 1 lounge bar and dining area will be created, transforming a former function room into a sophisticated space for open dining.

The Belvedere is looking to fill 200 job opportunities by the time of its reopening in early November, which is expected to give the local economy a much-needed boost.

Roles including floor staff, bar staff, kitchen staff and management are open for applications.

Lewis Land Group Queensland regional manager Chris Allison said the team behind the Belvedere could not wait to show off its new areas.

“This exciting milestone not only signifies the transformation of our venue but also presents a tremendous opportunity for the local community,” Mr Allison said.

“With over 200 job positions available, we are dedicated to creating employment opportunities and contributing to the growth and prosperity of the Redcliffe area.

“We have all types of roles available and are encouraging everyone who is interested in an exciting career in hospitality to apply.

“Since August 2022 we’ve only had one bar open, but come November, guests can expect to indulge in the delights of five bars, plus a pizzeria and a gelato shop.

“Not only that, but the new areas with sweeping views across Bramble Bay will provide a breathtaking backdrop to complement their dining experience.

“With an expanded seating capacity, we are thrilled to provide over 1100 seats, a huge increase from the previous 800 – and the current 300 we have available — creating a more spacious and comfortable environment for our valued patrons.”

Lewis Land Corporation bought the hotel in 2002 and completed a $2m refurbishment in 2016.
