Taco Bell announce plans to open a second restaurant in the Moreton Bay area

A global Mexican takeaway chain will be one of the new attractions in a shopping centre expansion near Brisbane.

A shopping centre expansion, under construction north of Brisbane, will include a service station, several new retail tenancies and a Taco Bell.

Rumours have been swirling for months that the new precinct along Morayfield Rd, Morayfield, would include a Taco Bell.

A spokesman from Collins Food Limited confirmed that it planned to open a Taco Bell restaurant at 182-190 Morayfield Rd.

“As soon as we have confirmation around opening dates, we will share that with our fans,” the spokesman said.

“We will hire approximately 60 local team members and managers for our Taco Bell Morayfield restaurant.

“We are delighted to give our local Morayfield fans the chance to enjoy Taco Bell’s world-famous craveable menu in their home suburb.”

It will be the second Taco Bell restaurant in the Moreton Bay Region, after one opened at North Lakes in 2018.

The spokesman there could be more restaurants in the region in the future.

“There are a number of potential sites that we are excited about and we look forward to announcing them in due course,” he said.

Taco Bell has confirmed it will open a restaurant at Morayfield.

The site at 182-190 Morayfield Rd is already home to an Anaconda store.

Work has started on the expansion, approved in 2017 by Moreton Bay Regional Council.

Once finished it will include three new tenancies, a service station and the Taco Bell.

The complex will include 123 car parks.

An investor has also been given permission after a drawn-out stoush with Moreton Bay Regional Council and the Planning and Environment Court to expand an existing precinct further along Morayfield Rd.

It too will include new retail tenancies.
