TACO Bell’s fourth Australian restaurant north of Brisbane has a confirmed opening date and one lucky customer can expect a lot of free goodies over the next 12 months.

The company today announced its North Lakes restaurant will open to the public on Saturday.

As an early Christmas present, one lucky customer will win free Taco Bell for an entire year and the first 62 people in line on Saturday will score limited edition merchandise to honour the brand’s first restaurant opening in California in 1962.

North Lakes will house the fourth Taco Bell restaurant in Australia and follows hot on the heels of last weekend’s Cleveland opening, which had people camp out from 2pm on the Friday to be first through the doors on Saturday.

It is located on the corner of Flinders Drv and Diamond Jubillee Way.

The North Lakes store is part of the company’s plans to open more than 50 restaurants across Australia by 2022.

Storegoers can expect to pick up a Crunchy Taco for $2.50, tortilla chips for $2.95 (dipping sauce an extra $1), frozen margaritas at $7 and Corona beer for $6.

The store opens 9am-midnight on Fridays and Saturdays; and 9am-11pm Sunday-Thursday.

Workers today were putting some last-minute touches on the restaurant before its Saturday opening.

Residents are urged to be patient if driving through the area on Saturday as traffic — including shoppers heading to and from Costco and Bunnings — is expected to be quite congested.

It will be the third Mexican style fast food restaurant in the suburb, with Zambrero and Gomez y Guzman already established.

The company will have some fierce competition though from fellow US fast food burger chain Carl’s Jr which is opening on Thursday at a new retail precinct at Rothwell.

Another burger chain Oporto has also just opened a new restaurant at North Lakes, at Westfield.
