Moreton Bay teens face Caboolture court after alleged crime spree

Two teens alleged to have robbed two other teens at knifepoint before escaping in a stolen car have faced court on Wednesday charged with a string of property offences.

Two teenagers have faced a Caboolture court after being alleged to have robbed two other teens at knifepoint and stolen vehicles and items across Moreton Bay.

Police charged the pair with property offences after investigations into an armed robbery in Redcliffe yesterday, June 4.

Initial investigations indicated that about 2.30am two teenage boys were walking along Sydney St when they were allegedly approached by three males not known to them.

It would be alleged one of the males threatened the boys with a knife, stealing a phone and other personal items.

Both of the alleged victims, aged 15, were unharmed.

The group then allegedly fled in a stolen grey Ford Focus which was reported stolen from a Carew St, Nundah home on April 30.

It was also alleged the two teens were linked to several break and enter incidents in Newport between 2am and 3am on Tuesday, June 4.

They were alleged to have stolen property and items, including a Range Rover Evoque, from a Sorbello St, Bridgeman Downs home on the morning of Monday, June 3.

Following investigations and with help from the PolAir helicopter and the dog squad, police found and charged the pair about 4pm yesterday in Burpengary.

One of them, an 18-year-old from Chermside, was charged with two counts each of armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and one count each of enter premises and commit indictable offence.

He was refused police bail and appeared in Caboolture Magistrates Court today, June 5.

A 17-year-old Margate boy was charged with two counts each of armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence.

He was refused police bail and appeared in Caboolture Childrens Court today, June 5.

Investigations are continuing.
