On average rates across the Moreton Bay Regional Council area are tipped to rise by less than 1.5 per cent.
Mayor Allan Sutherland, revealed the figure ahead of council adopting the 2019/2020 budget on Monday.
“It’s anticipated that the average total rate increase for owner-occupied houses will be below Brisbane’s current CPI (consumer price index) of 1.5 per cent,” Cr Sutherland said.

If adopted by the council it will be the first time since Cr Sutherland was re-elected in 2016 he has stuck to his campaign promise to cap rates to inflation.
In 2016/17, just months after being re-elected rates rose by an average of 2.98 per cent more than double the 1.3 per cent CPI announced for the March quarter.
This current financial year rates rose by an average of 2.89 per cent.
Council also delivered a record budget worth $622 million.
The council is yet to reveal how much it plans to spend this coming year but councillors have hinted which projects should receive funding.
These include an extra $3.7 million towards the Moreton Bay Central Sports Complex, $10 million for Caboolture road upgrades, $5 million towards the Griffin Sports Complex, more than $3 million towards the next stage of the Nathan Rd Sports Precinct at Rothwell, $7 million for intersection upgrades across Pine Rivers and $4 million towards the redevelopment of the Samford Parklands community building.
The 2019/2020 budget is due to be handed down at the Strathpine Chambers at 1pm on Monday.
