Moreton Bay Regional Council is tipped to spend big this coming financial year with millions expected to be put into sporting facilities and road upgrades.
The council is expected to officially adopt the 2019/2020 budget at a special meeting on June 3.
The council is yet to state what it expects the coming rate rise to be.
But councillors from Divisions 2- 12 have shared which major projects they hope will receive funding.

Division 2:
Councillor Peter Flannery said he hoped to secure $3.7 million for more upgrades towards the Moreton Bay Central Sports Complex at Burpengary.
The money would be used to upgrade the roads at the facility, specifically Paradise Road, which now includes a new artificial football pitch.
Division 3:
Councillor Adam Hain expects council to invest $10 million into Caboolture road upgrades this coming financial year.
Ideally he would like to see $2.45 million put towards McKean St from Beerburrum Road to Pettigrew St.
“It is crucial that our roads keep pace as our population grows, so that the safe and reliable road networks locals enjoy continues that serviceability into the future,” Cr Hain said.
Division 4:
A $5 million boost in next year’s budget would help get things moving on the new Griffin Sports Complex, says Councillor Julie Greer.
Council is currently working on designs for the project which is expected to include cricket pitches, fields, walking tracks and barbecue facilities, will be located off Henry Road.
All up Cr Greer said the project was expected to cost $15 million.
She said the first $5 million, if approved, would go towards the construction of new access roads, carparking spaces, turf fields, amenities, lighting and a club house.
Division 5:
Councillor James Houghton hopes to secure $3.2 million for the next phase of the Nathan Road Sports Complex at Rothwell.
Works have already started on the new facility which will include an Australian rules oval the size of the MCG, multipurpose fields, a smaller AFL field, grandstand, clubhouse and wetlands area. It is expected to be open in time for the 2020 Australian rules season.
Division 6:
People in wheelchairs or with mobility issues could soon be able to access Suttons Beach, if Councillor Koliana Winchester’s wish comes true.
Cr Winchester said she had asked for $17,000 to purchase, install and store beach access matting at the Redcliffe Surf Lifesaving Club, so everyone could access Suttons Beach.
She has also asked for $310,000 for a new lift in the Redcliffe Library.
Division 7:
Councillor Denise Sims hopes to see $7 million set aside for road and intersection upgrades across her division.
“We’ll also be introducing green infrastructure to better facilitate a wildlife crossing including a fauna rope bridge, road stencilling, wildlife signage and fencing,” she said.
Division 8:
Councillor Mick Gillam hopes to receive $2 million to upgrade roads across Division 8 including a section of Youngs Crossing Rd. He said also hoped money would bet set aside to general road resurfacing works.
Division 9:
It is expected that $3.5 million will be made available to upgrade South Pine Sports Complex, including the expansion of the indoor facilities. Councillor Mike Charlton said the rugby union clubhouse would be knocked down and rebuilt in a new location, to enable the works to take place. The new clubhouse will include a change room, first aid room, canteen, gym and storerooms.
Division 10:
Councillor Matt Constance hopes to split $2.6 million across a number of projects. Including a new baseball diamond at James Drysdale Reserve, new soccer fields at Leslie Patrick Park and a new bikeway at Arana Hills.
Division 11:
Samford Parklands community building could get a $4 million facelift if Councillor Darren Grimwade’s wish comes true.
“This funding will see 13 old buildings on the old CSIRO site demolished and replaced with one central, fit-for-purpose community building with a floor space of 450sq m,” he said.
Division 12:
Councillor Adrian Raedel hopes to be able to put $9 million towards road projects across his division.
He estimates $7 million will be needed for road resurfacing projects.
Cr Raedel said he hoped to get an extra $1.6 million to put towards upgrading Pates Rd and some funding to extend the pedestrian cycleway through to Caboolture.
