A troubled young tradie is back in court following a shocking assault where he pulled out his penis in front of a female lawyer at Caboolture Magistrates Court.

Bellmere man Matthew Wallace White, 23, pleaded guilty is Brisbane District Court on Monday to going armed so as to cause fear, assault with intent to commit rape, wilful damage and four counts of serious assault/resist/obstruct a police officer.

The court heard two police officers were at a service station when they observed White walking towards their vehicle with a metal claw hammer on April 23, 2019.

He ignored directions to drop the hammer and instead swung it down and struck the bonnet of the police car.

A police van arrived to take him into custody but White resisted arrest, dropped his weight and fell to the ground before rapping his arms around an officer’s legs and squeezing.

He was taken to Caboolture watch house where he continued to resist arrest and punched a cop.

The court heard White was released on bail to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on May 14, 2019.

When he went to the court on that date, White met with a female lawyer and offended against her.

The court heard White pulled his penis out of his jeans, held it with his left hand and grabbed the back of the woman’s neck with his right hand.

He pulled her head towards his penis and she reached out with both hands and pushed White away and said “f*** off” before calling out for help.

White’s lawyer said her client was then arrested and spent 822 days in custody from May 14, 2019, to August 12, 2021.

She told the court White, who was previously working as a plasterer, was deeply remorseful for his actions.

She said he had “significant” mental health issues, including schizophrenia, that had been exacerbated by drug use.

The court heard White was now receiving treatment to address those issues at the The Park centre for mental health.

Judge Nicole Kefford sentenced White to 822 days imprisonment and declared the 822 days he spent in pre-sentence custody time served under the sentence.
