Police prosecutor Senior Constable Donna Cole said police searched Robertson’s home in Springwood at about 7.10am on March 24.

During the search, they found 3.8 grams of cocaine, 99.9 grams of cannabis, silver digital scales and a used water pipe.

The court heard Robertson told police he had purchased the cocaine for an upcoming party that weekend.

Robertson’s lawyer told the court his client worked as a personal trainer who opened up his own business in 2020, which has “flourished” and now had about 30 clients a week.

“He said he smoked cannabis as a teenager; he has been sober for some several weeks from cannabis,” he said.

“The cocaine was for recreational use, and he regrets that decision.”

The court heard Robertson had a relevant criminal history and was convicted for drug-related offences in 2009 and 2011.

Magistrate Terry Duroux said he was “troubled” by the offending.

“You need to stay away from drugs. Drugs will screw up your whole life,” he said.

Robertson was fined $1500. No convictions were recorded.
