A 22-year-old has fronted court after allegedly threatening staff at a massage parlour north of Brisbane with a sawn off shot.

A man has been arrested after allegedly threatening workers at a massage parlour north of Brisbane.

It is alleged the 22-year-old attended a massage and spa business on Sutton St at Redcliffe and demanded money on August 28.

The man allegedly produced what appeared to be a sawn off firearm and threatened a worker, about 9.30pm.

The worker handed the man money from her pocket and he left the store.

She was not harmed during the ordeal.

Police later found a car the man allegedly used during the robbery at a Scarborough home on September 10.

Officers further alleged they found ammunition in the car.

He was then arrested, without incident, on September 12 at a Burpengary shopping centre.

He was charged with armed robbery, possession of dangerous drug, obstruct police and failing to have authority required to possess explosives.

He will reappear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on November 11.
