A gorgeous and bubbly 21-year-old woman who died following a car crash in Dayboro last week has in death done one final good deed in honour of her mother.
Lianah Paige Power, 21, died from injuries following a traffic crash last Monday afternoon at Dayboro, in the Moreton Bay region.
Her hatchback was travelling northwest on Dayboro Rd about 5.30pm, when it crossed on to the other side of the road and collided with a sedan travelling in the opposite direction.
Last week Lianah’s father Wayne Power opened up about the tragic 12 months their family had endured after her mother suffered severe burns in a freak accident, and their grandfather lost his battle with cancer.
Now, Mr Power has revealed his daughter was able to donate skin tissue for burn victims like her mother Susan.
“She had neck, head, shoulder and torso injuries,” Mr Power said.
“But we believe some of her tissue will go towards in need burn victims.
“That’s something that’s been very important to our family since what happened to her mother.”
On the eve of Mother’s Day 2021, Susan Power (Lianah’s mother) was involved in a serious accident leaving her severely burnt.
Mrs Power suffered burns to her face, throat, arms and upper body. She spent months in hospital, and still wears a full face mask and body burns bandaging.
According to her father, Lianah dreamt of stardom and never wanted to be forgotten.
”She had dreams of being an actress or directing films or working in the music industry,” he said.
“She wanted to be famous. She would have enjoyed this attention she was so bubbly and fun loving.
“She always said she was destined to be a star.”
Lianah’s younger sister, and best friend, Sinead Power has also shared a touching tribute.
“My beautiful sister Lianah, there will never be the right words to describe the unbearable heartache of losing you, you touched the hearts of every person who had the privilege of knowing your beautiful soul,” Miss Power said.
“It’s so hard to grasp not being able to be with you again but I know you will always be here in spirit.
“You are a sunflower, so kind and pure, you define the colour yellow. You always had the time of day to look after me and were so good at making everything feel okay.”
The song Yellow by Coldplay, Lianah’s song according to her family, will be played at her funeral this Friday.
“You lived such a beautiful life and had so many people that cared for you and shared some amazing memories with you … you didn’t deserve to go out like this Lianah and I promise you I will see all the places you wanted to travel to and dreams you had, for you,” Miss Power said.
“We have to accept you are gone now but you will never be forgotten, your beautiful face, smile, big ocean eyes and pure soul will forever live in mine and so many people thoughts.
“The hole in my heart will never go away. Our family house will never sound or be the same without our loud, bright and outgoing Lianah here blasting music.
“We will celebrate your life now Lianah because I know you would want that and I hope wherever you are right now you are happy and the free spirit you always have been.”
Lianah’s funeral will be this Friday, April 8, 2022 at Albany Creek Memorial Park starting at 3pm.
