Faces of 2021 QLD road toll victims

The young victim of a fatal crash north of Brisbane will be remembered for her kind heart, compassionate soul, fun-loving nature and love of music.

Lianah Paige Power, 21, died from injuries following a traffic crash on Monday afternoon at Dayboro in the Moreton Bay region.

Her hatchback was travelling northwest on Dayboro Rd about 5.30pm, when it crossed on to the other side of the road and collided with a sedan travelling in the opposite direction.

Ms Power, from Warner, was driving the hatchback and was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where she died from her injuries on Tuesday.

A passenger in the hatchback and the driver and sole occupant of the sedan were both taken to hospital.

Investigations are continuing.

Now her father has shared a touching tribute, describing his daughter as having the biggest heart of all.

“She was the most beautiful, kind, compassionate and loyal person,” Wayne Power said.

Wayne and Susan Power, Lianah’s parents, have lived in Warner since 2008 and run a local business – Powerhouse Plastering.

Mr Power said his late daughter graduated from Wavell Heights State High School.

“She touched the lives of so many people. Every birthday party or event we had here for her there was always hundreds of her friends in attendance,” Mr Power said.

“That’s just the kind of person she was. She was amazing with people and would always make you feel special and like there was a connection.

“Total strangers would be her friends within minutes. She just had a way with people.”

According to her father, Lianah had just secured her dream traineeship.

“She was supposed to start the day after her accident,” Mr Power said.

“It was to become a carer for the elderly and disabled which would have suited her so well.

“She’d be there for anyone and could always make people feel good about themselves.

“She didn’t have any hate and always saw the good in people. She wouldn’t judge people at all and would give everyone a chance.”

Lianah played netball, loved her friends, was family focused, and passionate about music.

“She loved going to shows and festivals with her friends,” Mr Power said.

“Arctic Monkeys and Ocean Alley were some of her favourites.

“She also had dreams of travelling to Europe and the UK.”

Friends, family, and those touched by Lianah have shared tributes to ‘fun loving soul’ online.

Kathleen Brown said she’d always be remembered.

“Forever 21 … her spirit freed far too young,” Ms Brown said.

“Her kindness and compassion felt by everyone who crossed her path.

“With tragedy, comes heartbreak and sorrow and a chance to celebrate the life we were privileged to be part of.”

Bella Chapman said she couldn’t believe the tragic news.

“My beautiful girl. Words cannot describe how I’m feeling right now. I can’t believe I have lost my best friend, my sister and a huge person in my life,” she said.

“You are an amazing soul who gifted this world with laughter, smiles, good vibes and love. “Lianah Paige Power I am going to miss you so so much and the surrealness of not seeing you around has not yet hit me.

“You will forever be in my thoughts and one day we will be up there in the big man’s house having a drink and a giggle. Over the years watching our sisterhood and bond grow has filled me with so much joy.

“You have impacted my life so so much and life without you will be hard. Always and forever will be in my heart.

“Forever 21.”

The Power family will be releasing funeral details soon.
