Eerie string of lights spotted over Caboolture leave onlookers stunned

Strange lights across the sky early this morning has left early risers stunned. But there is a rational explanation not involving UFOs. DID YOU SEE IT?

Strange lights over early morning skies in Caboolture today (June 23) has left locals scratching their heads.

“Anyone else view the lights passing over Caboolture at around 5am this morning?” Mitchell Howells posted on a community Facebook page.

“Slow moving in unison, super cool.”

Mr Howells told the Caboolture Herald he was leaving for work when “a stream of lights” above him caught his eye.

“They reminded me of fairy lights across the night sky,” he said.

“I woke up my partner and we both watched the lights travel across the sky.

“All equally distant and a really unique sight to see.”

Debbie, from Lawton, said: “My husband and I saw it at Lawton around 5.15am.

“Blinked and they were gone … tried to get a photo (with) no luck. It looked pretty cool.”

Another resident on North Stradbroke Island said: “I was at Amity Point on North Stradbroke Island fishing when I saw it at about 5.13am.

“It was moving quite fast and in a straight line. Thought I was seeing things.”

But there appears to be an explanation, and it has nothing to do with little green men in flying saucers.

According to several observers, it was most likely a series of satellites.

Dozens of Starlink satellites from SpaceX were launched on Saturday (Brisbane time) from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

SpaceX confirmed on June 21 it had completed its most recent launch, tweeting: “3 launches from 3 SpaceX pads in less than 37 hours.”

This isn’t the first time Elon Musk’s SpaceX Starlink satellites have caused a frenzy.

Last month, reports circulated online after Sydneysiders spotted a string of lights.
