Court told Warner resident, Jessica Kay Louise Brown takes the fall for her partners drugs

A young aspiring lawyer, who a court heard took the fall for her partner after dangerous drugs were seized in a police raid, has been warned her dream may suffer as a result.

A magistrate has warned a young mum her dream of becoming a lawyer could be dashed after a court was told she took the fall for her partner when dangerous drugs, including meth, were found at her home during a police drug raid.

Warner resident, Jessica Kay Louise Brown, pleaded guilty to several drug offences in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court after police raided her Warner home and found traces of methamphetamines, cannabis and valium, as well as drug instruments.

Brown was charged with two counts of possessing an object used in a crime, one count of possessing dangerous drugs, one count of possessing drug utensils, and one count of permitting her place for drug use.

The mother-of-two was at her home when police used a search warrant to raid her house on December 2, 2021.

The court heard police found a bag of 53 cannabis seeds, along with drug instruments containing methamphetamines, cannabis and valium.

Police also confiscated Brown’s phone, which allegedly contained texts organising to obtain drugs from suppliers for her partner.

Brown’s lawyer told the court her partner received no consequences for his alleged involvement.

Magistrate Melanie Ho warned of the impact the charges could have on Brown’s future career in law.

“If you’re heading towards your dream job you need to extricate yourself from the drug industry,” she said.

“Be careful. This is the very last occasion you won’t have a conviction recorded.”

Ms Brown received six months probation, was ordered to seek out counselling programs.

No convictions were recorded.
