Plans for a shopping centre, which will be anchored by Coles and Chemist Warehouse and a Red Rooster have also been approved.

Late last month further plans for a PetStock retail centre and veterinary service was also lodged with Moreton Bay Regional Council.

The massive centre will service not only the growing Caboolture region but also the future residents of Caboolture West – a satellite city set to be home to close to 70,000 people within the next 40 years.

Big Fish Business Park will start to take shape next month with construction teams set to start work on the new Bunnings Warehouse and shopping centre.

Bunnings Area Manager Andy Stewart said construction was due to start in a few weeks and be open late 2022.

It will include the main warehouse, outdoor nursery, timber trade sales area, cafe and playground on more than 13,000 sqm with parking for 400 cars.

“It is expected to create more than 100 jobs for local residents,” Mr Stewart said.

“Further updates on recruitment will be provided closer to the time of opening, including when and how applicants can register their interest.”

A spokesman from Eildon Capital Group said work on the shopping centre, which will be anchored by Coles and Chemist Warehouse would start mid-September and was expected to be completed in December 2022.

“A leasing campaign is currently being undertaken to secure additional large format retail tenants in addition to speciality tenants,” the spokesman said.

“We are targeting food and beverage, gymnasiums and essential service retail operators.”
