A Moreton Bay grandmother has sent a barrage nasty of messages to a teenager calling her ugly and wishing her baby would die.

Caboolture Magistrates Court heard that Liza Maree Warne, 51, had sent multiple messages to a 17-year-old, leading her to plead guilty to one count of using a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence.

The court heard Warne told the girl “I hope your baby dies c***, I hope your baby dies”.

She also sent a disturbing image of a wrist with self-harm cut marks on it with the message “your new profile picture” and called the girl “the ugliest”.

The court heard Warne had an 11-page criminal history but was undertaking a dog grooming course in an effort to turn her life around.

The court also heard Warned was caring for six grandchildren while her daughter served time in jail.

She also told police the victim had allegedly sent messages of a similar nature to her.

Magistrate Andrew Hackett called the messages “quite profane, disgraceful and offensive”.

“It wasn’t just one message, you persisted — you dug yourself into trouble.”

Warne was fined $1750.
