Bribie Island man in court over alleged Moreton Bay crime spree

A Moreton Bay man in his 20s will face court in relation to a huge alleged break-and-enter spree across Moreton Bay in which a stolen vehicle was used.

A Bribie Island man is alleged to have broken into a Moreton property and stolen a vehicle he used in an alleged crime spree across the region, a court has heard.

Police arrested the man in relation to a series of break and enters at cafes and shops between June 19 and July 7.

It was alleged the offences occurred in the Scarborough, Newport, Bongaree, Narangba, Beachmere, Clontarf, Murrumba Downs, North Lakes, Caboolture and Burpengary areas, with other related offences allegedly committed in north Brisbane as well.

It would be alleged that between June 28 and July 2, a property along Strong Rd in Rush Creek was broken into.

A car was stolen and used to make multiple trips to and from the property to steal saddlery, tools and two quad bikes.

On July 4 police executed a search warrant at a Creek Rd, Burpengary East address where they found clothing and property alleged to be connected to the offences.

Three days later a second warrant was executed at a Clarence Cl, Narangba house where further items of interest were found, including methylamphetamine.

A 26-year-old man from Ningi was charged with 25 offences including break and enter, wilful damage, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possession of a dangerous drug, possession of tainted property and possession of drug utensils.

He was remanded in custody to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on August 7.
