The new Carl’s Jr is located in Hope Island Marketplace, a $65m retail development at the intersection of Broadwater Ave and Mervyn Drive.

The Rothwell store will be the first Carl’s Jr franchise on the north side of Brisbane, following openings of stores at Redbank Plains, Pimpama, West Ipswich and Eagleby earlier this year.

Both restaurants will have drive-through options.

The Rothwell restaurant will be part of the new Rothwell Village development on the corner of Deception Bay and Morris roads.

Residents have been waiting for the store to open since it was announced in October 2017.

It was expected to employ up to 100 people.

The stores will open at 8.30am.

And the first 50 people through the door at each location will win vouchers to eat free at Carl’s Jr for a whole year.

There are also plans to open a Carl’s Jr at Burpengary.
