Carl’s Jr is looking to hire 100 locals for its new Rothwell restaurant

CARL’S Jr stores are popping up all over southeast Queensland, with the next one set to open north of Brisbane in a month. And, as well as the prospect of the chain’s famous burgers, there are more than 100 jobs up for grabs.

The people behind the first Carl’s Jr store north of Brisbane have launched a recruitment drive for more than 100 employees ahead of the much anticipated opening next month.

The popular US burger chain now has five stores in southeast Queensland, including Redbank Plains, Eagleby and the Brisbane Airport.

It is expected to open its first store north of Brisbane at Rothwell by the end of November.

The restaurant is being incorporated into the Rothwell Village development at Deception Bay Rd — the site of the former Redcliffe Produce store.

Queensland based business The Bansal Group is behind the rollout of the franchises.

General Manager Shawn Kerr said he anticipated the opening of the Rothwell store to be one of the biggest yet.

The restaurant opening is always fun as we consistently see lines of customers up to 24 hours before opening,” Mr Kerr said.

“As it is the first one for this part of Brisbane we expect it is going to be a big event.”

Like all other openings the first 50 customers will receive merchandise and a booklet with vouchers for a free burger once a week for a year.

The restaurant was expected to open early November but delays due to the wet weather have pushed this back until later next month.

Mr Kerr said a recruitment drive had started and that more than 100 people were needed to support the business.

He said they would focus on hiring people based in the Moreton Bay Region.

There are jobs for management positions down to casual and part-time positions.

Mr Kerr said The Bansal Group was investigating options for more Carl’s Jr restaurants in the Moreton Bay area particularly around North Lakes, Morayfield, Caboolture, Redcliffe and Warner.

The Rothwell Village development will also include a Starbucks and Oporto — both of which are also looking for employees.
