A young bartender from a popular Scenic Rim pub who allegedly dealt meth and blew bong smoke into a police officer’s face, now has a warrant out for her arrest after she was a no show at court.

Tiarne Micha McKinnon, 24, failed to appear at Beaudesert Magistrates Court on Tuesday where she was facing one charge of failing to appear previously and one charge of fraud.

It was previously reported that McKinnon’s fraud charges were in relation to her allegedly possessing a suspected stolen bank card, vehicle key and a Dan Murphy’s loyalty card back on November 15, 2019.

The failure to appear charge was from October 19 in Beaudesert.

On September 28, McKinnon pleaded guilty to failing to appear at court on August 17, had other charges committed to the Supreme Court, and had a charge adjourned to October 19 at Beaudesert Magistrates Court; which she failed to appear at.

McKinnon was arrested in August last year and charged with 16 offences, including nine counts of supplying dangerous drugs (meth), assaulting police, obstructing police, receiving tainted property, possessing a mobile phone suspected of being used in the commission of a drug offence, and possessing cash suspected of being the proceeds of a drug offence.

The court heard this week that McKinnon’s remaining charges have not yet been dealt with by the Supreme Court, but will be in the coming weeks.

Magistrate Tracey Mossop questioned why McKinnon would miss yet another court date.

“I’m issuing a warrant,” Ms Mossop told the court.

“She may find herself in custody very soon.

“So that will make it easy for her to appear for her Supreme Court matters. She’ll even get free transportation.”

It is understood that police allege on August 7 last year, Police attended McKinnon’s Beaudesert home with a search warrant.

They allegedly found McKinnon in her bedroom, smoking cannabis out of a bong.

Police will allege they then asked her to stop and hand it over, but she refused. Police then reached across to take the bong away from her, which is when McKinnon allegedly blew the bong directly into the officer’s face. For this she now faces a charge of obstructing police.

Police also allege that McKinnon threw a television remote at the officer. This relates to the charge of assaulting police.

Police will allege that during the arrest, officers uncovered cash suspected to be the proceeds of a drug offence and a mobile phone suspected to have been used in the commission of a drug offence.

It has previously been reported McKinnon worked at the Beaudesert hotel at the time of her offending.
