Edens Landing residents played a part in apprehending two teens in an early morning chase through Logan streets.
Residents said their dog’s barking woke them and they were able to see people in their neighbour’s yard getting into their neighbour’s car.
They were able to alert police who tracked them with the help of residents who gave chase.
Police were called to Eira Crescent around 2.20am on Monday, August 15 following reports that two teens were trying to break into cars.
Residents in pyjamas directed police using CCTV and officers arrested two boys in nearby Holliday St.
A 14-year-old Mt Warren Park boy and a 15-year-old Edens Landing boy were both charged with attempting to enter a premises and commit an indictable offence, along with receiving tainted property, possession of a knife in a public place and possession of drug utensils.
Both will appear at Beenleigh Children’s Court next month.
Investigations are continuing.
