A Logan stay at home mum has faced court after sending a series of explicit texts, images and videos to an underage boy.

A Logan stay at home mum has faced court after sending a series of explicit texts, images and videos to a teenage boy.

Beenleigh District Court heard 20-year-old Logan Central woman Shaynice Marie Thrush sent a photo of herself in a G-string to a teenage boy under the age of 16.

Thrush also sent a video of her masturbating with a sex toy and several text messages with explicit, sexual language.

All communications took place over a three-month period and the victim reported the lewd behaviour to his family.

Police then became aware of the offending and Thrush said she was embarrassed and was smoking a lot of cannabis at the time.

Thrush pleaded guilty to one count of exposing a child under 16 to an indecent video and photograph.

The court heard Thrush was mother to a three-year-old girl and had a tumultuous childhood.

She was forced to leave home and was couchsurfing for an extended period.

Judge Deborah Holiday said any crime of this nature required an actual term of imprisonment unless there were exceptional circumstances.

“I need to protect the Queensland community from you but I accept in this case there are exceptional circumstances,” she said.

“There are significant mitigating factors.

“Any offending of this nature is serious but the offence to my mind does not require a conviction to be recorded.”

Thrush was sentenced to 18 months probation and no conviction was recorded.
