A Logan father due to welcome his fifth child in a matter of weeks is being mourned by a distraught family after their frantic search for him ended with his tragic death at the weekend.

Richard Szeles, 38, of Marsden, affectionately known as Richy, went missing on Thursday, October 27.

Worried family called police and launched Facebook campaign called Finding Richy.

Sadly, however, the search ended in tragedy when his body was found near his burning car at Beenleigh Saturday morning.

The incident occured at the intersection of Enterprise and Harburg drives just after 10am.

Richy’s aunt Lora said their family was heartbroken.

“We know his grandparents, who also passed away within the last year, are looking after him,” she said.

Richy left behind his heavily pregnant wife Lilly Szeles and their four children. Mrs Szeles is due to give birth in the next two weeks.

Her family has organised a GoFundMe campaign to support the young family.

“Richy was a loving, dedicated husband and father who was excited to meet his baby boy,” his Aunt said.

“He spent the past few weeks caring for his wife.

“Donations will go towards funeral costs and family.

“We love and miss you Richy.”

Mr Szeles trained as a mechanic after high school and worked in the industry locally at Slacks Creek.

According to his brother, John Szeles, Richy was fun-loving man who loved his job and family.

“He was very fun to be around and easy going,” Mr Szeles said.

“A very loving and dedicated brother, son, father and husband.

“He would always go that extra mile to help someone out and was very thoughtful and considerate.

“It’s so sad what happened and we’re all struggling with it and are pretty devastated.”

Alongside John, Richy also left behind his sisters Micki and Melinda, and his other brother Csabi.

“Richard was a very generous man who had a heart of gold,” they said.

“He was a good soul who only ever tried to do good for others.

“Richard was a man of good character who took his responsibilities seriously and worked very hard.

“He was a fun loving husband, father, brother, son, uncle and friend, a dedicated Christian, and a giving person who was always willing to help someone in need.”

The siblings said they would miss his cheeky smiles, sense of humour and his big hugs.

“He was the type of person who went the extra mile to help someone out,” they said.
