Mark O’Sullivan, Bus driver for Logan disabled student, dies in Jimboomba crash

The name of the victim of a fatal single car crash in Jimboomba has been revealed, as colleagues pay tribute to a much-loved bus driver.
Flagstone man Mark O’Sullivan, 58, died when his car crashed into a tree on Cusak Lane, near Henderson Road Sunday.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash about 5pm.
Police said early indications suggested the man’s car was heading north before it left the road and hit a tree.
Emergency services were unable to revive the Mr O’Sullivan, who was the sole occupant of the car. He died at the scene.
It has since been revealed that Mr O’Sullivan had spent 15 years as a bus driver for disabled students.
According to colleague Rach Grant, Mr O’Sullivan was well known for his work locally.
“I use to work with Mark for 10 years … Townsend Buses is the company he was working with for over 15 years, transporting disabled kids daily to and from Calamvale Special School,” she said.
Another work colleague, Michelle Powell, said she would never forget Mr O’Sullivan.
“Mark thank you for the memories and all your words of wisdom,” she said.
“It was an absolute pleasure working with and knowing you.
“Your kind, caring nature and our endless conversations will never be forgotten.
“I will forever have the privilege to call you my friend.
“Taken too soon. May you rest in peace.”
Another work colleague, known as Kylie, said her heart was broken.
“It breaks my heart that you were taken so unexpectedly,” she said.
“Your memory will never leave us and live long in our hearts.”
Anyone who witnessed the crash or with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from that area is urged to contact police.
The Forensic Crash Unit investigation is continuing.
