A house mate from hell threw tables across the room, choked and kicked her roomie in the stomach during a rampage, a Logan court has heard.
Kylie Flanagan, 35, lashed out brutally against her house mate in February last year, Beenleigh District Court heard on August 8.
Flanagan organised to talk with the victim on February 3 but grabbed her by the neck, kicked her in the stomach and jumped at her on a couch.
The court heard she also threatened and abused her housemate while assaulting her.
“You’re going to get hurt, you’re a lying dumb c---,” she said.
“You’re a lying dog, I’m going to keep you here for three days.”
Flanagan then picked up a knife before throwing a set of drawers at the victim and punching her in the left side of her face.
She also choked the house mate and threw two bedside tables at her.
At one point Flanagan was punching the victim in the face while telling her “stop hurting yourself”.
In a victim impact statement tendered to the court, the victim said she had suffered severe anxiety and nightmares since the attack.
She had significant bruising and swelling to her face and body from the sustained bashing.
Flanagan pleaded guilty to assault occasioning bodily harm, assault occasioning bodily harm while armed, two counts of robbery and two counts of common assault.
Judge Craig Chowdhury said Flanagan could have killed her house mate.
“Choking someone around the neck is a very dangerous thing,” he said.
“Throwing the tables is also very dangerous, it could have struck her in the head and killed her.
“No matter how angry you are or how high you are on drugs, you can’t resort to violence.”
Flanagan was sentenced to three years’ prison but released immediately on parole.
She had already served 228 days in pre-sentence custody.
