A Logan father of four who served seven years in jail for manslaughter has faced court again for a wild two-hour motorbike chase in which he was tracked by a police helicopter.

Kevin John Peacock, 34, from Berrinba, pleaded guilty in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday, August 28, to dangerous operation of a vehicle and fraud.

The court heard the father of four was previously jailed for seven years on November 11, 2010 for manslaughter.

He had a large gap in his offending from 2016 until the most recent incidents.

On April 18 this year in Daisy Hill, Peacock ran a red light on a motorcycle while evading police.

He then drove onto the wrong side of the road at high speed and was chased by a police helicopter for up to two hours.

Peacock drove through Loganlea, Woodridge, Browns Plains and Jimboomba.

He then became bogged in bushland and tried to escape police on foot but they gave chase.

Peacock was also sentenced for a fraud offence on March 19 where he dishonestly left without paying at a petrol station.

Magistrate Cameron McKenzie said there had been a substantial break in Peacock’s offending since 2016.

He sentenced Peacock to 12 months’ prison, wholly suspended for 30 months.

Peacock’s drivers licence was also disqualified for six months.
