The Holmview woman was also charged with three counts each of unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, common assault, possessing a dangerous drug and five counts each of receiving tainted property and fraud.

Police alleged Capalaba man Mr Beheram approached a Mazda CX-5 at a service station in the afternoon on Christmas Day on City Rd in Beenleigh.

He assaulted a 26-year-old woman and attempted to steal her car, they alleged.

The court heard the two charges of kidnapping would proceed on indictment and a brief of evidence would be ordered by February 29.

A Legal Aid application has been made.

Mr Beheram’s lawyer said they would be in a better position to update the court once they spoke with their client.

The matter would next be mentioned in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on March 13.

Ms Dodemaide’s legal counsel told the court they planned to contest the charges and argued she was not involved directly with the kidnapping or assault.

Her matter was adjourned for four weeks to February 24.

The pair were remanded in custody.
